Not all those who wander are lost, and in the music video for his new single, ‘All I Need’, Isaac Watters knows where he’s heading. As he sings, “All I need is a cup of coffee on a mountain top”, we see Watters, dressed in a suit and baseball cap, wandering through the California desert, loosely holding a coffee cup in one hand. He’s on the look-out for the enlightenment one finds in the bottom of a good old cup of Joe.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Directed by Aaron Caleb Eisenberg, the clip captures Watters deep in thought, as he’s wandering through the stark, yet picturesque landscape. He’s dep in thought, but he’s still linked to the things of the world by, not least of all, his coffee cup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The song serves as a prayer of supplication. Watters writes of the thrill of being lost, and the intellectual and spiritual comforts to be found in a life that’s low-key and largely self-sufficient. All he needs is a cabin away from the big smoke of the city, a glorious view, and a place where he can write down his thoughts, all washed down with a steady stream of coffee. And the track was written in exactly that sort of location, in the solitude of Pipes Canyon, near the mesmerising Joshua Tree National Park. ‘All I Need’ serves as an anthem of sorts (without actually being anthemic) to those of us who want to pivot back to a life less hectic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Without spoiling the end of the video, we’ll just say that Watters finds what it is he’s looking for. And not only that, he’s got all that he needs with him – including a pocketful of sugar cubes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
