Out today, April 4, ‘Blue Skies’ is the fourth single from North London singer songwriter, Nicola Gaea. ‘Blue Skies’ is available to stream and download here<\/a>.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Following on from her previous singles, ‘Fly’, ‘Sunday Prayer’, and ‘Soul Sisters’, all of which received critical acclaim, ‘Blue Skies’ is a reflective track that was originally a poem written by Nicola, and the song was conceived after she took a walk in the park, contemplating the deeper questions of life. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking of the track, Nicola says,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It was written as my personal reminder to register my highs when they come because it\u2019s only natural that the downs will come back around again.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Nicola’s Neo-Soul vocals are beautifully enigmatic, silky smooth and beguiling, set against an instrumental track comprising keyboards, strings, guitars, and percussion. The song conjures up a languid summer day; stretched out on the grass, thinking of how we fit into the world. The melodies are pure and enchanting, encompassing the listener in a warm blanket of peace and tranquility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Singer songwriter Nicola Gaea and her three siblings was brought up by her mother on a diet of Reggae, Soul, and Jazz from an early age. At 15 Nicola started working with producers at Chocolate Factory Studios, but she found the process to be somewhat overwhelming at the time. Nowadays, older and wiser, she is managing her career on her own, and finding support from the likes of Jess Iszatt, at BBC Introducing London, and Victoria Jane, at BBC Radio 1, who placed her tracks ‘Sunday Prayer’, ‘Fly’ and ‘Soul Sisters’ on Future Sounds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
