Blueburst are a new group but they’re certainly not new artists. Comprising founder Craig Douglas Miller and guitarist Marty Willson-Piper, the group brings with it a long history in the music industry. New album, ‘Vanish’, comes after a 20 year musical hiatus for Miller, who found in Willson-Piper a trusted mentor and collaborator – who’s also a dab hand at production. The title track was released on March 10.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In addition to Miller and Willson-Piper, Blueburst comprises drummers Michael Jerome and Brian Platt, as well as bassist Ryan Kelly. The group brings with them a musical pedigree as long as your arm and you’ll be wishing you’d heard this long ago but be glad you’re able to hear it now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New single, ‘Vanish’ is everything fans of alternative rock will love. The track is filled with jangly guitars, bringing a 90s underground vibe, coupled with enough emotional angst to satisfy any fan of the Portland sound. Meanwhile the track is simultaneously inspiring with its message of having a newfound lust for life. It’s innovative, edgy, and fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking of his return to music, Miller said,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI wasted 20+ years doubting myself and not finishing any music. So it\u2019s extremely gratifying to be back now with the best music I\u2019ve ever made. And it\u2019s been a joy doing it with one of my favorite guitarists of all time.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

He added:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMuch of today\u2019s so-called \u2018alternative\u2019 rock seems to have become just as overproduced and slick as the pop records they are supposedly an alternative to. But most of my friends, and a lot of younger people as well, are still listening to the albums we grew up with, I think because there\u2019s a rawness and honesty in that music. That\u2019s what we aspired to with Blueburst.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
