With a line-up of seasoned rock veterans hailing from Pittsburgh to Cincinnati, Changing Tymz are your new favourite metal band. Their latest single, ‘Shark Attack’, is a touching tribute to drummer Tony Rossi’s late brother, and former bandmate, Peter Rossi. The pair co-wrote the first riff together before Peter’s untimely death from a fentanyl overdose in 2017, and the song draws parallels between his sudden loss and a shark attack.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Changing Tymz are masers of the best metal riffs and runs, and their lyrics tackle contemporary issues such as addiction, spirituality, and relationships, viewing them through a mature lens. Each member has their own part to play and plays it to the max. Drummer Tony Rossi pounds out his rhythms with passion and precision, while rhythm partner Bryan McQuade pours out imaginative imaginative bass runs, together laying the foundation for guitarists Timmy Wysong and Brian Weber, who shred for all their worth in the spaces left by lead singer JoAnn Wolfe’s powerful vocal displays. After the release of 2020s self-titled album\u00a0‘Changing Tymz’, the band has been hard at work producing a new 11-track album, set for release later this year.

‘Shark Attack’, Changing Tymz’s new single, gives fans a taste of what is to come. With intricate guitar runs, twisting and turning, maze-like, and Wolfe’s melodies and lyrics speaking to the psychological pains of addicts and those close to them, the track is powerful and moving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Likewise, the music video for ‘Shark Attack’, directed by Tony Rossi, and friend Tom Fox Davies, takes a deep look at the damaging consequences of drugs. A group of martial artists are confronted by the real violence drugs bring to a community. They gear up for the fight, but suffer losses – however they eventually find peace and recovery. The end of the clip is a moving one, as the Peter Rossi’s guitar is shot in font of frame, with the band standing behind, almost in salute, in memoriam to their lost comrade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
