We’ve previously shared a number of tracks by Shaheed & DJ Supreme<\/a>, and spoken of how much their hometown of Birmingham Alabama means to them. We’ve shown them highlighting the local skatepark, the community farm, and the record store. Now they are focusing on the future, and those young minds who will create it, with their latest release, ‘S.T.E.M., S.T.E.a.M., and S.T.R.E.a.M.’<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

S.T.E.M. stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths, and has been further expanded to also include reading and the arts. Shaheed and DJ Supreme know that learning is important, but it can also be fun as well, and with their new track they match a throwback beat and flow with lyrics that point not just to the next generation, but also the ones that follow. The chorus sums up the important message of the track: “confidence with self-esteem is a good routine”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The video for ‘S.T.E.M., S.T.E.a.M., and S.T.R.E.a.M.’, is directed by the duo’s frequent collaborator, Richard Giles, and takes place at McWane Science Center, an interactive science and learning museum, located in downtown Birmingham. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The clip opens on Shaheed & DJ Supreme, who are joined by a group of kids, ready to learn. They learn by having fun – colouring pictures, and learning physics while they shoot hoops. They learn how to breakdance, while at the same time how to read topographic maps. They are having a great time, while absorbing information that will them in their future careers. It’s a bright hope for a great future, and a wonderful one for Shaheed and DJ Supreme to be getting behind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
