Montogmery Alabama is the hometown of CEO Fully Loaded and Fatt Macc. It’s a town filled with history – both good and bad. The struggles of the deep south, characterised by spirituality, interpersonal warmth, and a determination that’s as fierce as it is powerful. There’s been plenty of injustice and discrimination, which led Montgomery to be a leading light in the US Civil Rights Movement. Beyond all that it’s also been the backdrop for a lot of artistry over the years, so naturally there’s also an incredible hip hop scene in the city.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘Round The Corner’, the new single from CEO Fully Loaded, takes that southern aesthetic and imbues it with a trap sound that is at once soothing and striking, seductive, and imminently accessible. With massive 808 beats, a slithering synth hook, and an almost cloying atmosphere of steamy beauty, ‘Round The Corner’ doesn’t waste any time in making its point, and delivers its message under 3 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CEO Fully Loaded and Fatt Macc work in tandem on the song, each making wry observations and colourful comments in turn, their rhymes and observations matching perfectly and complementing in tone. While their approaches might be different, they still come together in their shared background. They’re both from the same place, and they both know about the grind, along with its dangers and thrills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The music video for ‘Round The Corner’ takes us to the outskirts of town. A dilapidated old house, its white paint chipping away, covered by a canopy of trees. Boards are nailed across the doors and windows, while signs declare “No Trespassing” from the porch. This is the home for big business though: CEO Fully Loaded and Fatt Macc wear the chains, and flash gear that testify to the work they’re doing and the money they’re making. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
