They’re the French band with the catchy name that you’ll no doubt have read about when we reviewed their single last month, Swallows’. Now DIY Rock Farmers, The Inspector Cluzo, return with the latest single from their upcoming album ‘Horizon’, whose name sounds as much like a job description as a single title – ‘Running A Family Farm Is More Rock Than Playing Rock’n’Roll Music’.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

But there’s no shadow of a lie in the title. Anyone who has put their hands in the earth to plant a seed will know the magic that is to be found in growing your own food. It’s hard work, and especially so if you adhere to ecological agricultural methods rather than chemical, and if you are like The Inspector Cluzo, and stand up for the rights of the small farmer against the big farming corporations, then you are, in anyone’s book, a Rockstar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘Running A Family Farm Is More Rock Than Playing Rock’n’Roll Music’ is the third track to be dropped from ‘Horizon’, and is accompanied by a music video. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The video opens with a drone shot of the 15 hectare family farm, \u201cLOU CASSE\u201d (\u201cthe oak\u201d in Gascon language) in Gascony, which produces organic wheat and organic corn with their own free seeds. It goes low over two scarecrows dressed as the duo themselves, Laurent and Mathieu, before showing fish-eye lens footage of them working on the farm. There’s plenty of inspiration for anyone looking at doing similar – ducks and sheep roam about doing their own jobs at keeping the pests and weeds down, while the guys go about harvesting the corn, as well as tilling the fields for next season, and picking tomatoes in the polytunnel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There’s plenty of time for music too, and it would be very easy to get lost in the irresistible driving rock. But look at the lyrics and you’ll see there’s so much more to it than just a catchy rhythm – just like farming is a whole lot more than just growing your own:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They\u2019re the rebels <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just like early rockers”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s even harder now <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add on Marketing bullshit <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You want to go green? That\u2019s good Just do it! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But stop Just greenwashing me!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you’re going to be an agro-revolutionary then you have to get right in – both wellies. There’s no half measures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Inspector Cluzo have the reputation of being one of the most prolific touring bands in the world, and have announced a full European and UK tour, including dates as special guests of EELS in March 2023, in the UK, Benelux, and Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The band comments: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“As farmers ourselves, we can confirm that touring and playing\u00a0in front of thousands of people is much easier than dealing with Mother\u00a0Nature’s anger due to climate change as well as with all factory farms\u00a0and agro-industry pressure added to the permanent green-washing.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The Inspector Cluzo’s brand new album, ‘Horizon’, will be released on January 27, 2023, via their label, F.thebassplayer Records. Two singles have already been released, title track ‘Horizon<\/a>‘ and ‘Swallows<\/a>‘. The new album was recorded in three weeks and produced by Grammy Award winner Vance Powell. ‘Horizon’ is the deepest and truest album The Inspector Cluzo have written to date. Each song shares and takes inspiration from real-life events and experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Inspector Cluzo has played more than 1200 shows in 67 countries to date, and have been a part of sold out USA support tours with Clutch and EELS in 2019, alongside a host of festival appearances across the globe (including Lollapalooza Chile and Brazil) and a maiden US headline tour. In the summer of 2022 The Inspector Cluzo played extensively on prestigious stages across Europe, including the widely renowned Hellfest Festival, where they gathered a crowd of 50,000 fans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
