It’s impossible to not be familiar with the music of Kool & The Gang. The group from New Jersey have been getting down and boogie-ing since the early 1970s, and with the release of their high energy latest single, ‘Let’s Party’, it looks like nothing will ever stop them!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kool & The Gang’s songs have been at every party. They’ve been the soundtrack to weddings, graduations, anniversaries and countless birthdays, not to mention just setting the mood at home or at picnics. No matter the reason, the mood or the time, Kool & The Gang, led by bassist and band cornerstone Robert “Kool” Bell have been there to give the celebrations a helping hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Latest release, ‘Let’s Party’, entreats the listener to set aside their troubles and cares, and just let go and have fun. It’s pretty much the same message they’ve had since they first started, but when you’re onto a good thing, why change it! In fact, the arrangement of ‘Let’s Party’ calls to mind another of Kool & The Gang’s chart toppers, their 1975 release, ‘Spirit Of The Boogie’, but at the same time the electronic and synth elements of the track are very much contemporary. Produced and co-written by longtime Kool & The Gang drummer George “Funky” Brown, ‘Let’s Party’ reminds us that no matter what, life is for living.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘Let’s Party’ introduces fans to a new addition to the group, Sha Sha Jones, the first woman to share lead vocals with the band, and the co-writer with George of ‘Let’s Party’. Her radiance and charisma are evident in the music video, and her seamless acceptance as part of the group is also crystal clear. Kool & The Gang are dressed immaculately in white, singing and playing next to a backyard swimming pool on a gorgeous day. The party is going down, and everyone is dancing their hearts out, in moves designed by award-winning choreographer and long-time Kool & The Gang collaborator, Christina Berry. Try and resist dancing to ‘Let’s Party’ – we couldn’t!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
