It’s not all turntables and breakdancing for Shaheed and DJ Supreme. They like getting their hands dirty as well, and their new single, ‘Life As A Farmer’ sees them fertilising the roots of the youth at Jones Valley Teaching Farm. <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Just like ‘Skates & Crates’, ‘Life as a Farmer’ sees the pair showing love for their hometown of Birmingham Alabama. This clip sees them showcasing another incredible project with the aim of transforming the city’s youth:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘Life As A Farmer’ is a companion piece to ‘Skates & Crates’, and just like in the previous clip, they’re about connecting with your neighbours, and working on that sense of community. With deft rhymes from Shaheed, ‘Life As A Farmer’ is a warm, evocative soundscape, with a message of peace and goodwill that won’t be lost on anyone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jones Valley Teaching Farm serves as a means by which people can learn to look after their bodies and basic needs from the ground up. It’s not just about growing food – even though that’s a great component, they stress the importance of learning these skills and doing them without fertilisers and taking back control of your own needs – it’s also about exercise, and feeling good about yourself, tilling the soil and being at one with nature and enjoying the pride in your own creation. It’s a lesson we all could take plenty away from.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
