22 year old Kelsie Kimberlin is both ambitious and talented, which makes her a natural for the music industry, which is known for its cutthroat tendencies. Her 2020 debut, ‘Lobotomy’, which looked at the growing trend of people to forget how to think critically, established her as an artist who thinks deeply about how she treads on this earth. Kelsie isn’t just making her stamp as a singer either, she also makes her own videos, as well as writing and recording her songs.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Since ‘then ‘Lobotomy’ Kelsie has written and recorded more than 150 original songs, and released over a dozen of them; her latest release, ‘Fruit Basket’, is on track to take her to the stars. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The feel good rhythms of ‘Fruit Basket’ reflect Kimberlin’s love for Latin music, and her smooth and spritely vocals work well with the vibrant colours and culture of Cartagena, Colombia, where the video was shot. Accompanied by Colombian singer and producer, Pedro Vengoechea, who together with Kimberlin embraces the genre\u2019s style, with classical guitar and rhythmic drum beats propelling the aesthetic even further. Subtitled, “Stand With Ukraine”, ‘Fruit Basket’ sees Kelsie telling her audience to live life to its fullest, and appreciate even the smallest blessings – because who knows what tomorrow will bring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The video for ‘Fruit Basket’ is filled with all the best Cartagena has to offer, from the brightly painted walls of the city, to the rainbow of flags, hung with umbrellas between them. The fruit baskets of the title are everywhere, and worn on the heads of the local Palenqueras who dance in the streets. Kimberlin’s performance is a thing of joy and the video is more than a match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
