I know nobody here is a stranger to The Dead Daisies – the musical collective comprising artists from all over the world, founded by David Lowy – we’ve been writing about them since 2016<\/a> here on Essentially Pop. Now they released their latest single, ‘Born To Fly’, and the incredible music video that accompanies it, is everything you expected and then some.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Taken from their latest album, ‘Radiance’, ‘Born To Fly’ was written by their founder, David Lowy, as a tribute to his love for flying. Not just a rocker and businessman, he’s also a world class aerobatic pilot, and the video sees him take advantage of the opportunity to soar heavenward. There’s also plenty of footage of classic planes, fighter jets, and death-defying loops and twists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile the rest of the band are content to keep their feet on the ground, with their soaring limited to their screaming guitar licks, which they do on the runway of an aircraft carrier, in a hangar, and in the studio. Amid all the aviator sunglasses, jumpsuits, and vapor trails, there’s a small boy who represents David, and his childhood dream of flight – his fascination starting from the passenger seat of a jumbo jet, until it reached fruition behind the joystick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
