‘Cyx Dimensions’ is the debut album from Sharn April. A play on words, the title denotes that the album has 6 tracks, each of which feature Sharn’s ethereal vocals over an R&B instrumental.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

While on the one hand, ‘Cyx Dimensions’ serves as a therapeutic process for Sharn, in the wake of a breakup of a relationship, but also as a series of songs that her listeners will find relatable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Opening with ‘Bittersweet’, a short and sweet track that serves as an introduction to Sharn’s vocal style, and quickly leads into the meat of the album. ‘Stay’ sees a reversal of 80s style guitar riffs at the very start, leading into her old-school vocals, which are very reminiscent of Mariah Carey – pure, sweet, and bewitching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Likewise, track 3, ‘Crazy’; if I said it was a recently unearthed Mariah Carey track, you’d be none the wiser. Meanwhile, ‘Spirit Guide’, the fourth song, capitalises on Sharn’s vocal style – breathy and yet completely in control. Of all the songs on the album, this is perhaps the standout track, and if Sharn was planning on releasing any singles, this would be my suggested lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The laid back fifth track, ‘Easy’, will have you swaying in your seat, setting you up for the finale, ‘My Luv’. The garage style track, which features a rap verse from Eugy and iLL BLU, feels club-ready and ripe for remixing, would be my choice as second single release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘Cyx Dimensions’ is the production collaborative effort between Paker Ighile, iLL BLU, Ashton Sellars, Mikes Pro, as well as Sharn April’s manager, Robert Evans, who additionally mixed and recorded the album. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘Cyx Dimensions’ may be Sharn April’s debut album, but it’s by no means her entry into the music business. In fact, following the release of her first single, ‘Cure My Thoughts’ in 2019, she found herself snapped up by BBC Radio 1 and other radio stations for their playlists, and was also added to the popular UK Spotify Playlist, ‘Our Generation’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
