It might be November, but it’s certainly still spooky season. The long cold nights with their dark skies that come over in the mid afternoon and don’t leave until breakfast time are hauntingly gloomy – long after Halloween. Ready, Steady, Die! know this all too well, and their single, ‘Darkstar’, is the perfect accompaniment to the winter creepies.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The latest release from their ‘Accidents’ album, itself a deliciously horror-filled record, tells the story of a serial killer. The music crafted by the band amplifies the sense of danger and foreboding, while the song, while beautiful and seductive, is at the same time somewhat insidious, feeling like the latest installment in a spine-chilling horror story. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The video for ‘Darkstar’ has been directed by WeekendClass, and while it is even more frightening than the song (if that’s possible), it’s been treated with great sensitivity and a whole lot of imagination, and uses the latest AI technology – now that’s scary!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘Darkstar’ follows on from the success of ‘Kiss It’, whose video has been streamed many tens of thousands of times already, and should very well prove just as successful – if not more so – for the duo comprising producer and multi-instrumentalist Morgan Visconti and singer and lyricist Sam K.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The video for ‘Darkstar’ sets the stage for the band’s next move, with the clip showing that Ready, Steady, Die! are as always ahead of the curve. Using text-to-image generators, the ‘Darkstar’ clip is made up of many hundreds of digitally created images, showing Victorian-era scenes, with just enough modern-day imagery to make us think anything could be happening to us in the here and now. Shudder!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
