Anthemic from the very start, Nya’s new single ‘Side Effects’ serves as a showcase for her incredible vocals. <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Accompanied by a video set in what could as easily be a supper club as a fly on the wall shoot in the studio, Nya is relaxed as she sings, seated on a stool. A keyboardist and guitar player are in the room with her, their passion for music as evident as Nya’s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nya sings of the “side effects of growing up” – something we can all relate to. All those things we go through that make us second guess about this whole adulting thing. Whether it be deciding if we want to stay in a relationship we know is failing, or the pressures of raising a family, paying a mortgage, and so on, in these troubled times – being a kid was so much easier and less problem-free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking of the song, Nya says, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“That true path could be the picket fence or something much wilder, but so many people never really have the opportunity to define that for themselves. I want to make sure that I do”.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

It’s not possible to pigeonhole Nya into any particular genre. The artist who spends her time between Los Angeles, Paris, and Uruguay, has taken all the influence of all these cultures – and then some – and applied it to her sound. With ‘Side Effects’ she dynamically blends soul with pop and jazz – and even a little country – and the result is a sound all her own in a stunning anthemic ballad that will have you craving more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
