Released on August 27, the video for Kyd’s new single, ‘Get On Down’ sees the artist visit the “wild west” popularised in the Spaghetti Western genre of the 1960s. It features footage in old saloons, the desert of the US South West, and old fashioned steam trains. If that wasn’t already enough to evoke the Clint Eastwood classic, ‘The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly’, the song opens up with an extract of Ennio Morricone’s haunting theme from the film itself. <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Kyd, from DeQuincy, Louisiana, takes a leaf from Lil Nas X’s book with his old school Country sound; he does however fuse it with Trap and Hip Hop, which is an area that’s not yet been fully explored in mainstream music. Kyd plays a cowboy in the clip, resplendent in black hat, leather waistcoat, and a huge silver buckle on the belt holding up his black Levis. The song itself is catchy both lyrically and melodically, while the two vocals, pairing a bass line with the lighter rap, are a brilliant augmentation to the perfectly blended hip hop beats with the country steel acoustic guitar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kyd has previously collaborated with artists\u00a0Danny Racero,\u00a0and\u00a0Ya Boy Big Choo, on his Afrobeat single ‘I Like It’. His multi-genre style so far has seen him explore a wide range of genres, including Hip Hop, Afrobeat, Pop, and Country, ensuring that he has listeners across the entire musical spectrum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
