We recently had the opportunity to ask some questions of Waterofelegance, whose single, ‘My First Love<\/a>‘, we reviewed last month. We asked the artist to share with us her inspirations, her music, and what she would change.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

First off I must ask you to tell us something about your name. It\u2019s so unique and striking, and evokes an image of a beautiful waterfall, or a fast flowing stream. Is it your given name, or one you\u2019ve chosen to perform under? How did you come by it?\u00a0<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have chosen my artist name. My music is like water \u2014 hydrating and refreshing for the mind and spirit so that’s pretty much it, and I’m elegant, which doesn’t need an explanation!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your song, \u2018My First Love\u2019 is a love song to and about your husband; you\u2019ve been together for 20 years or so, and are clearly still very much in love. What do you consider to be the secret to a happy marriage? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having an open heart on both sides from husband and wife, and being patient knowing that we are in this union together, Also keeping everything out in the open – no secrets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although you\u2019ve been involved in music pretty much your whole life, it wasn\u2019t until 2020 that you released your first single, \u2018Kiss\u2019. What inspired you to do it then?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes, at the age six I was mainly coming up with tunes and lyrics, on my own, and after becoming an adult I realized this is something that I wanted to do, and I continued my journey, and I knew that I wanted to be an artist that is inspirational that bring sunshine to the world life by making people smile, dance, make their day brighter, while provided healing spiritually, mentally, physically. My song ‘Kiss’ is an R&B\/Soul love song, speaking of love being shared\u00a0through a kiss, which was the perfect opportunity, so a track was Produced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you could go back and change one thing about your life, what would it be, and why? Conversely, if you didn\u2019t want to change anything, why? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I would not want to change anything, even things that people see as a negative, I see it as strength; it shaped and moulded me for who I am today….I Love my life!!! God and his higher powers are doing amazing things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who do you feel to be the greatest inspirations on your music? What about your inspirations in life?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I actually have my own unique style, but there are artists I enjoy listening to, such as Anthony Hamilton, Jill Scott, Anita Baker…I love many artists’ music from the early 80s, 90s and 2000s – R&B\/Soul, Jazz, Neo Soul, pop – there is no set music preference, I am well rounded with music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My inspiration in life is to continue being the sunshine, that I am helping people realize and find their own light and worth, which helps in building confidence. Also being a motivational positive person for our youth and adults, through my daily life, when in contact with people, and through the power of music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
