International chart-topping hitmakers Kodaline have announced a special intimate run of UK shows in support of their forthcoming stripped-back live album ‘Our Roots Run Deep’, out October 14th<\/sup> via Fantasy Records\/Concord.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Marking the announcement they have also released the new single \u2018Wherever You Are\u2019 taken from the album. It\u2019s out now on all streaming platforms here<\/a>, and the poignant performance is available to watch here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The short intimate tour will start on September 21st<\/sup> at Wardrobe, Leeds and finish at The Brook, Southampton on September 27th<\/sup>. Tickets for the UK tour will go on sale at 10am BST on Monday August 1st<\/sup> here<\/a>.

Speaking about the tour the band say, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe can\u2019t wait to be back in the UK to bring you some super intimate shows to celebrate the release of ‘Our Roots Run Deep’ with some of our favourite Independent Music stores around the country.\u00a0These will be some of the smallest shows we\u2019ve done in a long time and we cannot wait to see you there.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

‘Our Roots Run Deep’ <\/em>has been recorded from Kodaline\u2019s cosy, sold-out Olympia Theatre show in Dublin during early March 2022. Produced with pristine clarity by fellow Irish cohort, Phillip Magee,\u00a0‘Our Roots Run Deep’\u00a0features a cross-section of the group\u2019s most treasured tunes and three illuminating covers in over 80-minutes of music with 17 tracks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Known for the soaring, sing-along pop-rock anthems and lush, yearning ballads that have topped radio and streaming charts around the globe, for these special intimate performances Kodaline utilized largely acoustic instruments including cellist, David Doyle and keyboardist\/vocalist, David Prendergast who help give the warm, living room sound added layers of texture and depth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This can be heard in the album and show opener \u2018Wherever You Are\u2019<\/a> as well as \u2018Brother\u2019<\/a> also taken from the album. The videos find the band playing in the same stunning set up fans can expect to see at the intimate forthcoming UK shows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regarding \u2018Wherever You Are\u2019 vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Steve Garrigan says, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c\u2018Wherever You Are\u2019 is a song I originally wrote as a present for my girlfriend. It\u2019s a newer song from our fourth album One Day At A Time. It\u2019s connected with a lot of people around the world and has been fun to play live at festivals and full band shows. It was great to hear the crowd singing along to this acoustic version in such an intimate setting. It\u2019s a moment we won\u2019t forget.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Continuing about the album the band say, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis album is something we\u2019ve wanted to do for a very long time, it\u2019s also something entirely new to us. It\u2019s a stripped-down acoustic show with no click, which basically means, it\u2019s very raw and unfiltered. We wanted to try and capture the energy and atmosphere of the night as best we could. It was an intimate show recorded in one of our favourite venues in the world, in Dublin City at home in Ireland. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed playing it.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

When Kodaline stepped onstage at the Olympia Theatre in March, Steve Garrigan alongside bandmates bassist\/vocalist, Jason Boland; guitarist\/vocalist, Mark Prendergast, and drummer\/vocalist Vinny May, felt a deep sense of renewal, of their friendship, their brotherhood, and their musical community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The beloved Irish quartet also felt a sense of release. Two years of pandemic-related separation, from each other, and the audience they had meticulously built since 2011, had underscored how essential that symbiotic relationship really is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The quieter musical beds pushed the band\u2019s emotionally driven lyrics and intricately woven harmonies to the forefront, deepening their poignant resonance even further. It also left room for the voices of their ecstatic fans, who filled the open spaces every chance they could!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The band and their fans have celebrated the new sense of freedom and togetherness with open arms this summer. Following the announcement of ‘Our Roots Run Deep’ <\/em>and the release of \u2018Brother\u2019 last month, the band went on to headline a huge outdoor show to 25,000 rapturous fans at Dublin\u2019s Malahide Castle, while they have also been performing at major festivals throughout Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the UK shows, Kodaline will embark on an extensive tour across Europe with full tour dates listed below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
