While they’re synonymous with the Phoenix Arizona alt\/punk scene, Jane N’ The Jungle have no end of surprises up their collective sleeves. Their new single, ‘Ocean Creatures’, comes from their March 11 released EP of the same name.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Jane N’ The Jungle frontwoman Jordan White never misses a beat with her incredible vocals, and latest single ‘Ocean Creatures’ is no exception. With Brian Dellis on guitars an bass by Bryan Dague, the new track comes with a music video that is worlds away from their usual desert based fare. Directed by Jim Louvau and Tony Aguilera the clip was shot at Madehouse Studios in the band’s hometown of Phoenix. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jordan is shown in a gauzy, water-like filter, as the band explores new territory; the spiritual consequences of physical trauma. White was caught in a 100 miles per hour car crash, and while she lived to tell the tale, she also had an out of body experience – a moment of violence, where she reached the very depths of the ocean, and had cosmic conversations with what seemed to be angels – or aliens. All this is documented in ‘Ocean Creatures’ with a psychedelic touch, and we’re transported to the accident by both the video and the soaring and grinding of Dellis and Dague’s instrumentals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The song has a very real rawness, and this is compounded in the video by Jordan’s use face-paint and Bowie-like movements. She puts her storytelling prowess to good use, and the song takes on a cathartic vibe; as with any trauma, talking about it is part of the healing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
