Denver songwriter Trevor Christensen’s musical project, Said The Sky, has been a club mainstay for nearly a decade, and millions of streaming listeners have enjoy their soulful electronic pop music. Christensen however is not constrained by genre labels, and his new single, ‘Walk Me Home, the anthemic closer for his latest album, ‘Sentiment’, is the perfect example of his refusal to be classified. <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

With a winsome melody, and warm, comforting lyrics, ‘Walk Me Home’ has plenty to offer Said The Sky’s myriad fans. It’s at the midpoint however, when the drums kick in, that the song’s rock foundations are impossible to ignore.

Lead vocals on ‘Walk Me Home’ are provided by Connecticut pop singer Chelsea Cutler, along with her characteristic empathy and intensity that her fans will know only too well. Cutler is perhaps best known for her platinum selling track, ‘You Were Good To Me’, which saw her collaborate with Jeremy Zucker, as well as her 2020 debut album, ‘How To Be Human’, which made it into the Billboard Top 40. This track is co-produced by Grammy-nominated electronic musician ILLENIUM, who has worked with Said The Sky before on 2016 release, ‘Rush Over Me’. While that was pure invigorating EDM, Walk Me Home’ is very different, and one tone that fits perfectly well on ‘Sentiment’, which includes features The Maine, We The Kings, State Champs, and Motion City Soundtrack.

The music video for ‘Walk Me Home’ naturally, is one that is not to be expected. Shot beautifully by director, and frequent Said The Sky collaborator, Lillie Wojcik, paints a portrait of those first flickers of a romantic relationship, using quick, intense, indelible strokes. This might sound like any other clip, except that Wojcik shows all the action happening in reverse. ‘Walk Me Home’ opens with a shot of a young woman in the afterglow of an encounter, and traces her activities backward in time from that point. The camera finds her under the blanket of the night with a young man she’s clearly just getting to know; it’s a lovely scene, but he’s been in a scuffle, and we don’t know why. Only at the end do we discover the reason for the blood on his face; and just like the song, it’s inspiring and surprising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
