We first encountered Miss Storm<\/a> in February with her single, ‘Quicksand’, and were struck by her heartfelt emotion as she told the story of the African American experience. She told it with such power that we were moved to reach out and speak to her further about her music, and what we can do to get involved in the fight against injustice. We hope that others will be inspired by her answers.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Storm by name, storm by nature \u2013 have you always been interested in social justice or is it something you felt you needed to get involved in, because of the tragic events in recent years?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Being a Black Woman In America I have no choice but to be Interested in social justice, yes absolutely!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Releasing an album discussing social and political  issues wasn’t initially something I planned to do. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The recent events have been too shocking to witness and not be verbal about!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 “Quicksand” derived from the tragic events that are repeatedly happening around the country and being an Artist I felt the Need to speak for the voiceless! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your latest single, \u2018Quicksand\u2019, delivers a powerful message about the threat of violence faced by black people in the USA every day. As a white person observing from the UK \u2013 what can I do to help your fight?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Great Question, Historically white people have looked away from the violence we endure and attempt to bury our burdens as if we are less than humans as if our lives don’t\u00a0matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you want to be an ally and support our fight, Show up for us! Say something! Use your privilege to speak up on the issues that affect us. Participate in the numerous movements that are going on around the world that are fighting everyday to propose solutions by donating your time or making  charitable contributions. Join our Fight! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your upcoming release, \u2018Black Dreams\u2019, is a concept album about the African American experience. What should listeners expect?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Black Dreams is a body of work that is\u00a0coming from\u00a0a higher power than myself. I am merely\u00a0a vessel delivering a message that\u00a0I hope will touch the souls of my listeners! It is sure to stir a lot of different\u00a0emotions about The African American Experience!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who is your favourite historical black activist, and why?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Angela Davis is one of the many Black Activists that I study and admire. Angela Davis was a fighter, she fought hard for equal rights and stood for what she believed in while simultaneously educating herself and others, Her intelligence and Courage makes her extraordinary\u00a0in my book.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your recent single, \u2018Quicksand\u2019, sees you collaborate with Madam X. How did that come about, and what was it like working with her?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Madame X is one of the most prolific artists I’ve\u00a0had the pleasure\u00a0of working with. I fed off of her energy for weeks before we recorded “Quicksand” she is a force to be reckoned\u00a0with! She is a powerful muse and I couldn’t have conveyed my message without her gifts\u00a0and her amazing instrument.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Part of the video for \u2018Quicksand\u2019 was shot on Jekyll Island. How was that experience for you?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shooting “Quicksand” on Jekyll\u00a0Island was a sacred experience!! To be barefoot on the same sand that my ancestors’ blood was spilled on to face the water that carried captured slaves to America and to be summoned by the spirits that live on that land was nothing less than divine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s next on the horizon for Miss Storm?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0I am planning on releasing\u00a0more music, more content and giving my audience a more in depth version of myself this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And finally, a question I ask of all those I interview, what question do you wish someone would ask you in an interview, but nobody ever does? And what\u2019s the answer to that question?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
