Atlanta’s up and coming rap artist Snypa returns with his new single, ‘Times2’ and we’re hitting the books letting him teach us some lessons.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

While New York and Los Angeles will always be happening places, the real heart of what’s going on in hip-hop is Atlanta, Georgia, and in particular the clubs and lounges where new artists cut their teeth and prove their worth. They also get to try out their latest sounds and styles, to an audience that lives and breathes hip-hop. Snypa knows this well, and for the last few years he’s been releasing some damned fine catchy singles, collaborated with legends such as Young Thug and YSL, and released his music through his own Wraith Talk imprint. In the clip for his latest single, ‘Times2’, Snypa has a word with the man on the door of Door 54, the intensely electrifying hip-hop club just off of Howell Mill Road, and we get to see the very heart of the Atlanta renaissance.

Director Rahn Evans shoots Snypa under the club\u2019s neon-lit sign, where he is flanked by beautiful women, while rapping with the confidence of someone who has just arrived. We also see him dancing between two parked cars, framed by the Atlanta skyline, and both images share the message loud and clear: that Snypa might well be on the crest of a wave when it comes to entertainment industry success, but he knows all too well that waves come crashing down – so he’s got both feet firmly planted on the streets. Snypa is just as comfortable walking through the neighbourhoods of Atlanta as he is sitting at the bar of Door 54, and he’s proud of that fact.

With ‘Times2’ Snypa shows off all those skills that justify his swagger. As with his previous releases, the track is searing, immediate, and catchy as all hell. The song’s rhythmic cadences are established with an easy, approachable flow, but pretty soon he’s handling tongue-twisting passages with the authority of the absolute pro that he is. Produced by Trell Got Wings and the aptly-named Kid808 (who also worked with Snypa on his previous drop, ‘That\u2019s It’), \u201cTimes2\u201d heads out with the thunderous bass and propulsive trap beats that are so characteristic of the Atlanta hip-hop sound. Is it any wonder that Lil Wayne has already signed on to guest on the remix? We think not!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
