We recently reviewed RnB artist Chace’s latest single, ‘Up 2 You<\/a>‘, and were excited to hear his side of things. A young man whose lyrics, about following your dreams, as well as about surviving heartbreaks, are wholly relatable, and his vocal ability is seemingly effortless, his talent showing through in every syllable. <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Thanks for speaking to us! What\u2019s been the most memorable thing about your music journey so far, and why?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To be honest the most memorable thing thus far is the up\u2019s and downs this whole time. It\u2019s like one minute your preforming at Club Liv in Miami and on Mtv then the next minute all that losses relevancy and you just sit there like what\u2019s next. It\u2019s been fun not knowing who I\u2019m going to meet or what\u2019s going to happen when I get invited by friends to a studio session. I try to be as optimistic and faithful as possible with this. I don’t do it for money. I do it so people can dance and have a good time to a true story with a nice beat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s been the toughest decision you\u2019ve ever had to make in your life<\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wow that’s a question I\u2019ve never been asked before but I\u2019m glad it was asked. I\u2019d have to say pulling the plug with people that I had so much love for. For the longest time I would let people walk all over me and be there punching bag and it was really hard for me to part ways with certain people because I\u2019ve always had a ride or die mentality even when I knew that certain people were not good for me and my mission which had always been love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We enjoyed your single, \u2018Up 2 You\u2019 and the catchiness of the track. It\u2019s wholly relatable too, we\u2019ve all experienced rejection in our lives. How much of your songs are based on your own life experiences?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m very grateful for the compliment. At times I wonder if people like my stuff so that makes me feel appreciated. As far as my songs being based on reality, they are. I\u2019ve thought about making songs that are non-fiction because I am pretty good at foreseeing things or situations. I\u2019d say all the songs that I\u2019ve made thus far are based on real life experiences, especially Up 2 You and Wrecklyss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your music videos are very cinematic – do you feel you could ever get into acting<\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve definitely thought about doing acting but I\u2019d have to be able to play myself or someone very similar to myself in all honesty because I wouldn’t want a negative character taking a toll on me mentally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s your take on the current state of the music industry? What advice do you have for anyone who\u2019s just starting up and getting into the scene?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To be honest I try not to look it like an industry because money isn\u2019t an underline for me. However it is a business. I suppose I\u2019m not the to thrilled about that part because music has definitely changed since the days of amazing music in my opinion and I don’t think many would disagree. My advice to anyone just starting off would be to keep you\u2019re word what it comes to committing to working with people that you\u2019ve connected with and always give other artist, and composers their credit when it\u2019s due. Never say never but never move funny in this music game because it\u2019ll come back to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What three tracks are on your playlist right now and what made you put them on there<\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That may very well be one of the toughest questions I\u2019ve ever been asked. Funny enough my top three songs would have to be Stuck On You, Up 2 You and Unconditional Love. All of these songs that I\u2019ve written are songs about truth and they are vibrant in my opinion and I enjoy listening to them hundreds of times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What question do you wish someone would ask you in an interview, but nobody ever does? What\u2019s the answer to that question?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a question I\u2019m happy to answer but I wish someone would ask me what I stand for. The answer to that would be what I think is the key to a lot of the world\u2019s problems and I\u2019d say that’s love. Love is vital and me being a Libra and someone that’s understanding I\u2019d have to say love sits well within me and it feels right when I receive and apply it just about every single time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
