Set for release this Friday 25 February, ‘Yuriko’ is the beautiful debut album from the ensemble project. The passion project of Prague-based composer Eduardo Ugalde, ‘Yuriko’ can be pre-saved here<\/a>.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

‘Yuriko’ was <\/strong>originally written to raise some hope during the first lockdown, but it took on a new and meaning after Eduardo’s mother was admitted to hospital with Covid-19.\u00a0This album, comprising 10 tracks, has deep-rooted emotion, and took a year to produce from beginning to end. The album served as a sometimes painful healing process for Eduardo,\u00a0who\u00a0assembled his musicians and worked with them to hone the arrangements, the end one a powerful and inspiring piece. Some tracks are strictly instrumental, while others, such as, ‘A Whisper’, and ‘Write You Down’, tracks 2 and 3, feature stunning vocals alongside equally gorgeous, almost orchestral, music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking about the formation of the ensemble project, Eduardo Ugalde says,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I used to want to form a band and bring my music to life that way, but after years, I just continued writing and focused on writing a theme and worried about the production later.”\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An ongoing endeavour, ‘Yuriko’ is the first release for the ensemble project, and also the first work of music fully completed by Eduardo Ugalde. The long player is representative of those values which were taught to him by his late mother, and the album is dedicated to her memory. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
