Set for release tomorrow December 10, ‘Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas’ is the new single and title track from the EP of the same name for The Rising. You can pre-save the single here<\/a>.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The four-track Christmas EP features two original songs, ‘This Special Time Of Year’, and ‘Christmas Brought You Here’, and will be released as a physical only disc from The Rising’s website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fans of The Rising, as well as regular readers of Essentially Pop will know that this isn’t the duo’s first Christmas release, having in previous years dropped \u2018This Special Time Of Year\u2019, which was followed up by \u2018Christmas Brought You Here\u2019. The Rising have also re-imagined Chris Rea\u2019s classic \u2018Driving Home For Christmas\u2019. This time they decided to re-work one of their favourite Christmas songs, \u201cHave Yourself a Merry Little Christmas\u2019, a song much loved by both members. The Rising really took their time and settled on an arrangement they felt was in keeping with the classic feel and nature of the song. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas’ was recorded completely by The Rising in their recording studio, and saw them play every instrument featured on the song. It continues their strong DIY ethos, as well as their strategy of releasing a single every seven weeks since 2020. This strategy has not only been creatively rewarding for the duo, but it also help land them on a Spotify editorial playlist, <\/strong>as well as a Main Stage Festival <\/strong>appearance at <\/strong>Pub In The Park, in July, opening for All Saints. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
