Acclaimed songwriter Gracie Abrams releases her new project, ‘This Is What It Feels Like’, last Friday, November 12th<\/span><\/sup> via Interscope Records.\u00a0 The follow up to her debut project, ‘minor’, which was released in the summer of 2020 followed by a virtual tour, ‘This Is What It Feels Like’ showcases Abrams\u2019 emotionally intimate lyrics and features the recently released songs ‘Feels Like<\/span><\/a>‘ and ‘Rockland<\/span><\/a>‘ as well as ‘Alright<\/span><\/a>‘ which was featured on New Music Daily on Apple Music this past Wednesday. ‘This Is What It Feels Like’ is available now at all digital retailers.<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/h4>\n

Abrams will perform single \u201cFeels Like\u201d on Jimmy Kimmel Live next Tuesday, November 16th<\/span><\/sup> (ABC 11:35\/10:35 c).<\/p>\n

The day also saw the release of the video for ‘The Bottom’, directed by Jared Hogan. ‘The Bottom’ was written with long-time collaborator Blake Slatkin as well as Omar Fedi and Billy Walsh, and centres on a particularly commanding performance from Abrams, whose vocals slip into a bright and nimble flow as she warns of the weight of her emotional baggage. All throughout ‘This Is What It Feels Like’, Abrams brings her raw introspection to the most intimate of emotional experiences (self-betrayal, insecurity, painfully failed attempts at connection). True to her DIY sensibilities, the 12-track project finds her taking a greater role in the production process, working with The National\u2019s Aaron Dessner (Taylor Swift, Sharon Van Etten), Joel Little\u00a0(Lorde, MARINA), and her frequent collaborator Blake Slatkin (The Kid LAROI, Lil Nas X, Justin Bieber) to dream up each track\u2019s minimalistic yet kaleidoscopic sound. In a departure from her previous work, Abrams also left her hometown of L.A. to write and record in such serene settings as the woods of Maine and Dessner\u2019s Long Pond Studio in the Hudson Valley\u2014a move that quickly brought a greater clarity to her creative vision.<\/p>\n

Abrams recently wrapped up her sold-out I’ve Missed You, I’m Sorry\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/strong>tour, which marks the first time she\u2019s ever embarked on a full tour. The I’ve Missed You, I’m Sorry\u00a0<\/span><\/em>tour began in early September, with dates at major festivals like Bottlerock, Firefly, and Austin City Limits.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>Abrams recently announced a North American headlining tour for early 2022. Kicking off on February 2 in Salt Lake City, the This Is What It Feels Like\u00a0tour will continue through March 13 in Seattle.
