Even though the SoCal sun isn’t any different twatcho anywhere else in the world, it certainly hits differently on Santa Monica Pier, and SevvTheArtist knows this well, and makes full use of it in the video for her new single, ‘Sunshine’.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

In fact, the light in Southern California is so special that the North Carolina native determined that nothing else would do as good a job to illustrate her song, and so she takes her listeners and viewers for a day out to the Pacific Coast, to spend the day bike riding, strolling along the boardwalk, and, most important of all, people-watching.<\/p>\n

The welcoming, mellifluous R&B sounds of ‘Sunshine’ make it the perfect soundtrack to any romantic seaside date, as it provides a showcase for Sevv’s stunning voice. Her roots in hip-hop make themselves evident whenever she sings, but it’s soul that makes her heart truly sing, with its confessional qualities, and its pure, optimistic, and captivating properties.<\/p>\n

In the video clip for ‘Sunshine’, Sevv wants to go out to the beach, and gently cajoles her reluctant partner, until the latter can no longer resist. Once outside in that beguiling California daylight however, and it’s obvious that neither one of the pair regrets a single moment of the experience. Shot on Memorial Day this year, we see happy people in love, with enthusiasm we can taste – we’re subsumed by the bright and brilliant day, and if we don’t catch ourselves quickly, find we’re falling in love too…if only with the gorgeous R&B groove of ‘Sunshine’.<\/p>\n

Decorated with bright greens, sparkling sky blues, and yellows more lemony than the sweetest lemon, everything in the clip shines pure sunshine. It’s yellow that’s most dominant however – the car Sevv drives is yellow, the sunflowers on her partner’s blouse are yellow, the beach blankets are yellow, the sunflowers in the beach and park scenes are yellow, and the bold colours of the street art that surrounds her are sunshine yellow, too. If the video for ‘Sunshine’ doesn’t immediately make you want to book a trip to LA then nothing else will.<\/p>\n
