With sultry vocals strikingly resonant of Nick Cave, ‘Take Me For A Ride’, by Luke MacRoberts, sweeps up the listener on a journey of musical bliss, supported by strings and horns.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Out today and self-released, ‘Take Me For A Ride’ is the new single from Chicago-born, Mexico City based singer songwriter Luke MacRoberts. Written at the end of, in MacRoberts’ words, “a long and lonely quarantine”, it opens with an upbeat ukulele melody, and with an almost childlike quality as MacRoberts describes how his life has changed after finding love.<\/p>\n

By the time the horns come in at about the minute and a half mark, jubilant and effusive, we are sharing in MacRoberts’ joy; when the guitars stride in, strong and determined, at just after 3 minutes, we’re urging on his love, with every hope that it’s the real and long lasting thing.<\/p>\n

Speaking of the track, MacRoberts said,<\/p>\n

“Once love happens to you, it’s hard to understand how you went without it before. This tune was written at the end of a long and lonely quarantine. The highlights are the arrangement, ukulele, singing, and lead guitar. The song has a lot to do with a big stepping stone in my life and I tried to reflect that musically.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

‘Take Me For A Ride’ comes ahead of MacRoberts’ upcoming EP, ‘Leftovers’. He plans to release a live music video in early September, shot in collaboration with a local brass band, in the streets of Mexico City.<\/p>\n

MacRoberts adds,<\/p>\n

“Quarantine really put a lot into perspective for me, so when I wrote \u2018Take Me for a Ride\u2019, I was trying express musically how lucky and grateful I am to have love in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
