Leamount minces no words in the track, which was written after a drunken phone call, followed by a number of text messages. We follow Leamount as he spirals downwards after having a bit too much to drink, and we experience with him a catalogue of emotions, including over-confidence, delusion, anger and arrogance, all of which are explored with intelligence and a great deal of pathos. Think ‘Hamlet’ in song form, albeit concluding in just under 3 minutes.<\/p>\n

Leamount isn’t new to the music business, but his name is; although he’s previously released music under different names, he’s ready for a fresh start in the alternative RnB scene. Leamount’s goal is to create music that’s not a reflection of the traditional musical styles of his homeland The Bahamas, but rather a means by which to fully convey the honest storytelling nature of his songs.<\/p>\n

‘D O Y O U’ was written and recorded during strict COVID lockdowns, and saw Leamount engaging both local and international music professionals to help fulfil his vision for the song.<\/p>\n
