Brighton-based artist Aliette Goodman has dropped her second album, ‘Do The Needful’, the first to be released on her new label, Goodman Records.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The thirteen track album, which can be streamed and downloaded here<\/a>, sees Aliette join forces with her friend, the DJ James Curram (Zebby), on the track, ‘Waste My Time’. Although she turned 20 last November, Aliette is still very much in touch with her teenage experiences, and she uses her music to illustrate a wide range of themes which provide an incredible picture of what life is like for young people these days.<\/p>\n

Perhaps the closest we see Aliette come to romance and sentimentality is on ‘Jack And Jill’, which tells a story of a young couple setting out in life, for whom things don’t go as well as they should.<\/p>\n

The album, which was created last summer over three weeks during lockown, has so far seen the release of 2 singles, the most recent being ‘Darkside’, which was premiered on June 24 by Melita Dennett on BBC Introducing South.<\/p>\n

Aliette’s pure and clear voice has a slight, “cheeky” edge to it, which makes her relatable; on top of that her lyrics are down to earth and cover topics such as drug use, poverty, depression, among others.<\/p>\n

‘Do The Needful’ follows on from Aliette Goodman’s debut album, ‘Black Book’, which she released in 2018. Aliette was homeschooled after finding secondary school to be more damaging than helpful, and she was thus able to ensure her creative needs. She attended sessions at Clint Production Studios, where she worked with jazz singer\u00a0Sarah Cunningham, followed by a year at BIMM. An artist whose talent is only matched by her determination, Aliette set up her own record label\u00a0Goodman Records, and set her course for the stars.<\/p>\n
