‘String Ladder’, out now, is the latest single from The Color Forty Nine, and comes from their forthcoming album, ‘String Ladders’, which is set for release on July 23.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

‘String Ladder’ is haunting and hypnotic folk, with a wild west vibe that comes from being born on the border of San Diego and Tijuana. But then that description is far too simple to explain the complex nature of The Color Forty Nine’s music. The song reminds us of the ghostlike qualities of The Lumineers’ releases, yet there’s a far more earthy vibe to their sound – adobe even.<\/p>\n

The sound is cinematic – you can hear the wide open spaces that spawn it, and you can almost see it as well – you almost develop a form of Synaesthesia. Violins and cut through the track like clouds trailing across the sky, while pianos and synths are like the tantalising promise of rain on a dry desert. It’s cowboy music; it’s prairie music; it’s desert music.<\/p>\n

Once the threat of Covid-19 is over, The Color Forty Nine plan to tour extensively, and at the moment they’re hoping to do this in summer or autumn this year.
