We recently featured Jared Hallock\u2019s recent release of ‘Bleed With Who?’, which he dropped under the moniker of Project213. His song about metamorphosis accompanied by a video of his body decomposing into beautiful butterflies is a fitting metaphor for his next project, Foolish Human. Foolish Human sees Hallock join forces with his band mate Benson Cabiao, and their first single, ‘Lake Union’, reveals an aesthetic that sounds like a love letter to the Pacific Northwest.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

With every new project, Hallock doesn\u2019t just transform, he also extends his reach in an experiment with new perspectives. His new collab Foolish Human tells a story from an entirely different emotional perspective from that of Project213. Foolish Human gives us a journey over a longer, more reflective time period, and features lyrics which remind us that it is \u201clots more fun to get in trouble\u201d – while sonically toying with our emotions, and focusing on themes of introspection, self-reflection, and the journey within.<\/p>\n

The music video for ‘Lake Union’ follows two female protagonists, whose relationship is ambiguous. The Pacific Northwest is as much a star of the clip, with its towering mountains and vast open roads, and these are the only things that seems to matter to the women, and serves to establish even more the depth of their connection as they ride their motorcycles.<\/p>\n

At one point in the clip we realise that what was once a journey for two becomes a solo ride when one of the bikers releases a jar of ashes into the valley. Behind her is the silhouette of her former companion slowly fading away. She continues their journey alone but with a presence that will always be along for the ride.<\/p>\n
