Folabee has released his latest Afrobeat single, ‘Power Of Dolapo’. A Nigerian native now living in the United States, Folabee pays homage to his heritage in the song title, which comes from Nigerian slang for “Power of the US Dollar”, as well as “acquiring wealth”.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Folabee wants to debunk the stigma of Nigerian immigrants being portrayed as fraudsters, with flamboyant lives, and in ‘Power Of Dolapo’ he honours all his hard work, as well as his experiences of moving to the US. Additionally, he recognises that his own perceptions have changed as he’s grown in his new environment.<\/p>\n

Folabee started out in music at a young age, and his music calls on influences of his homeland of Nigeria. Described as being a source of inspiration to his circle of friends and family, this father, husband and artist has thrown his hat into the music industry ring in order to make his mark, and his single, ‘Power Of Dolapo’ aims to represent both his personality and perseverance.<\/p>\n

‘Power Of Dolapo’ comes with a vibrant music video that celebrates the hard working attitudes of Nigerian immigrants, and the wide variety of jobs they hold down in order to make their way in life. It also shows the hard times, such as being wrongfully arrested. At the same time, the clip doesn’t ignore the fun moments of life though, and Folabee and his friends are also shown having a good time.<\/p>\n

Folabee has come a long way from trying to make ends meet as an underground artist, and is now pushing his way to the forefront of the Afrobeat community, his hard work finally getting its reward.<\/p>\n
