In the video for ‘Burning Bridges’, the latest release from Lindsay Kent, we see her on the end of such a brutal breakup that she’s compelled to burn a teddy bear. The Illinois rocker puts everything that reminds her of the past times she’s leaving behind, in the thundering blaze she’s started.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Just like the songs she’s sung with her band, The Millennials<\/a>, ‘Burning Bridges’ has its roots in the blues, and the same swaggering blue collar rock that is synonymous with the American Midwest. She maintains the same sort of abandon, and while Lindsay Kent’s clever song-writing and directed lyrics makes the song resonate with listeners, her soulful vocal renders it timeless.<\/p>\n

The music video for ‘Burning Bridges’, directed by Jason Yaccino – who also worked with Lindsay on her previous solo single, ‘Scars And All’ – uses as its main theme that of self assertion; and with that he has increased the intensity of the colour in the footage. Kent is shown in a hotel room, surrounded by pictures of the relationship she’s leaving. Leaving the hotel, she takes with her personal items packed in a suitcase. One by one, she feeds them into a flaming brazier, surrounded by the Chicago snow. As the flames consume each picture, it’s clear her sense of self-worth increases.<\/p>\n
