‘Can Dance A Little’ is the debut album from Carrie Melbourne. The 13 track record is available to stream and download\u00a0<\/b>here<\/a>, and follows on from the release of her first single, ‘Star’, last year.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

‘Can Dance A Little’ is a light hearted and inspiring mix of rock, pop, Latin, country, and Celtic influences, which reflect Carrie’s own experiences as a travelling musical artist. She touches on deeply personal subjects, such as love and loss, as well as peace, healing and understanding. Carrie’s vocal ability, along with her musical talent, call to mind other strong female artists such as Joni Mitchell, and Carole King.<\/p>\n

Carrie is by no means new to the music industry, having started out as a session musician, supporting Mike Oldfield on bass guitar until the early 2000s, and before that, playing for the band, Babylon Zoo, in 1996. So it’s about time that Carrie ventured into her own solo career!<\/p>\n

The title for her album, ‘Can Dance A Little’, is a reference to a comment made by a Hollywood executive about a screen test by Fred Astaire: “Can’t sing, can’t act, can dance a little”. The album celebrates the unique gifts and talents we all have, which we should feel free to share, as well as those precious relationships we have with each other, and the dreams we hold true to our hearts.<\/p>\n
