Vancouver singer songwriter Pennan Brae returns with his new single, ‘Passing Fad’. The track is accompanied by a lyric video.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

With upbeat, rich sounds which is sure to sooth the savage breast of any and all music lover of any generation, ‘Passing Fad’ is packed full of dreamy guitar riffs, and a cool bass. ‘Passing Fad’ follows on from the previous single, ‘The Love That I Got<\/a>‘, a track about a love which is impossible to let go, but somehow feels even more desperate. Lyrically Brae expresses that deep need to be with someone, even if they mess with your head and make you work for everything you get. It sounds crazy, but everyone knows it’s what we want, really.<\/p>\n

The lyric video for ‘Passing Fad’ is a trip down memory lane and is jammed solid with nostalgia. Brae once again turned to Rob Fitzgerald to create the clip, and he takes us back to the 70s and 80s with his morphing of TV ads from those days. Stemming from the 80s culture of “greed is good”, materialism is the name of the day in the clip, and that desire to have more and more echoes the desperation of the lyrics. The vintage sound of Pennan Brae, and the nostalgic video clip with its commercials flashing backwards and forwards on a glitchy old tellybox, might make us almost forget it’s a lyric video, if it weren’t for the words scrolling by.<\/p>\n
