Allegra, star of new pop bop-and-a-half,\u00a0Do What I Want<\/em>, is a girl on a mission. Her aim: to get to know herself better and to encourage others to do the same. We sat down with the budding young talent to find out more.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

What do you hope to have achieved by the end of the year?\u00a0<\/strong><\/u><\/div>\n

This might sound silly but I definitely\u00a0\u00a0want to know myself even better by the end of this year. I\u2019ve always been so busy and in the thick of things but knowing who I am allowed me to become a better artist. It\u2019s important to know who you are so that you can help others.\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/div>\n

Do you have a follow up planned to DWIW? What would you like to write about next?<\/strong><\/u><\/u><\/div>\n

I\u2019ve already written my next single and I\u2019m planning on releasing an EP soon! So I guess my next few songs are about being true to yourself and saying that you don\u2019t need to rely on someone to be happy or go achieve your goals in life.\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/div>\n

In DWIW, you speak a lot about the pressures of conforming on social media. What advice would you give to people who are struggling with that during lockdown?<\/strong><\/u><\/u><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Take time off. I\u2019ve definitely switched off social media so that I can really be present with my family and write music. It\u2019s important to not compare yourself to other and just work on you from time to time.<\/u><\/u><\/div>\n

What do you plan to do during the new lockdown? Are there ways to do what you want whilst still following regulations? \ud83d\ude09<\/strong><\/u><\/u><\/div>\n

It\u2019s a challenge but I\u2019m making the most out of this lockdown. I\u2019m doing cooking challenges with my friends over the phone and I\u2019m definitely dancing around my kitchen while doing it. I like to look to the positive side of things instead of focusing on negatives! It\u2019s just The time to think outside the box and to be creative.<\/u><\/u><\/div>\n

How did you find learning the choreography for DWIW? Is it something that comes naturally to you?<\/strong><\/u><\/u><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
I\u2019ve always been a dancer since I was a little girl ! I took ballet lessons, tap lessons,\u00a0\u00a0modern dance even figure skating. So I\u2019m lucky that i can pick up things quite quickly.\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/div>\n

How was the reception to the TikTok challenge?<\/strong><\/u><\/u><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
It was definitely overwhelming. If I told my younger self that people would be dancing to my song on\u00a0\u00a0social media I would\u2019ve thought you were crazy! I was so thankful and I\u2019m still amazed by the whole thing!<\/div>\n
