Ready Steady Die! continue with their perfectly honed and quite frankly, a little spooky, brand of pop-folk-rock in new single, ‘Vent’.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

A lockdown shot music video, recorded in black and white, Morgan Visconti plays his musical instruments on the left side of the screen, while Sam K behind huge sunglasses, intones the sombre lyrics in her crisp, pure voice.<\/p>\n

The song follows on in similar style to their previous releases, ‘Woebetide’, and ‘Deep’, but this time the video is much simpler; yet that’s all that’s needed. ‘Vent’ sees the pair at their most vulnerable, at home, in lockdown, baring their souls, and venting about the situation in the best way possible – through the power of music.<\/p>\n

Although they are separated from both each other and their audience, due to the ongoing pandemic, it’s been artfully done, with a stark dividing line down the centre of the two individual frames. Visconti’s infant daughter makes a sleeping cameo, while Sam K’s dog sticks close to his mistress, and is rewarded with some well-earned hugs.<\/p>\n
