David King Jones gets us in the holiday spirit with his lighthearted and very 2020 single, ‘The Covid 19 Christmas Song’.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Normal things we might do every other year – photos with Santa, huge family gatherings, aren’t on the agenda for this very strange year, but there’s no reason to put Christmas aside entirely – just look at it in a different light. A native of Washington DC, David King Jones has been making music since middle school, when he was given a keyboard. Now in New York City, his musical talents have allowed him the opportunity to travel and work with a wide range of artists. This track is an R&B\/pop tune, but his usual specialities are rap, hip-hop, and EDM.<\/p>\n

This single is the perfect example of a 2020 track, but it’s nothing new for Jones, who has a hand in every single aspect of the music process. Besides writing and singing, he also records, mixes, and masters every track in his home studio, as well as filming and editing all his music videos, ensuring it’s truly the product of his own creation.<\/p>\n

Quarantine gave Jones the opportunity to add another string to his already laden bow: green screen. He’s taken to it like a duck to water, and may as well declare himself the king of it, due to his comedic cutouts in the clip for ‘The Covid 19 Christmas Song’. He performs in front of a Christmas tree, dressed in the uniform of an essential worker, while clips of busy and crowded holiday events flash by, bringing a nostalgic feeling – until they’re stopped by further ones of Santa taking a doze, shopping carts being disinfected, and Christmas Carollers resorting to performing over the phone, rather than outside the door. While we might forget our mask when getting out of the car, the emojis in the video all have their personal protection gear on, and serve as a reminder to us all to, this holiday season,\u00a0ensure we socially distance, limit our gatherings, and stay away from the mistletoe…no matter how tempting!<\/p>\n
