Vancouver artist Pennan Brae draws his inspiration from the likes of\u00a0 Elton John, Muddy Waters, BB King, the Stooges and the Kinks. A singer, songwriter, guitarist, and filmmaker, Brae is a true storyteller, no matter what medium he uses to tell his tale. His latest single, ‘The Love That I Got’, is an ode to the human condition, and the artist transcends eras with his guitar led rock.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Brae’s gravelly vocals are a match for his gritty 6-string fuzz and driving backbeat, and the combination makes for a memorable track that will have you humming along from the get go. Not just hummable, but fully relatable, a heartbreak song that’s been written while the cut is still searing through his soul, along with all its attendant confusion and desperation.<\/p>\n

It’s still 2020 and we’ve all been caught up in having to find innovative ways to do things, and musicians are no different when it comes to making video clips. In keeping with Brae’s era-less style, director Rob Fitzgerald takes us back to 1933 for the music video, using a piece from the classic Betty Boop cartoon, ‘Crazy Inventions’. The extract fits the song perfectly, almost as if it was made for it specifically.<\/p>\n
