Atlanta trio Forrest Isn’t Dead return with with their new single, and music video, ‘Here We Are’.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Set in a home typical of suburbia, we take a glimpse into Forrest’s childhood, being brought up in a single-parent home. Everyone is in their own little world; the mother is depressed, and deals with it with a combination of pills and wine. The son plays video games alone in his room, taking out his rage on that rather than those around him. The daughter is trying her own way of escapism, by trying desperately to be a beauty queen, but not seeing what she wants to, reflected back from the mirror. They’re all dealing with their inner demons in their own way. The band is shown, in the house playing the song, while the father is a ghost of mystery, “a distant memory”.<\/p>\n

Having grown up in a single-parent household, there’s a lot I can relate to in the clip; but the important thing to remember is that we don’t have to give into our demons – we can overcome them and lead lives that aren’t a reflection of how we’ve grown up – we can take the sadness and loneliness and turn it into something creative in our lives, and when we have children of our own, we can turn that into love for them.<\/p>\n
