As the world buckled down with COVID-19, iconic vocalist Engelbert Humperdinck had to adjust to the shifting restrictions provided by the pandemic. With his 2020 worldwide tour cancelled, Engelbert insisted on getting new music to his myriad of fans who were upset about missing the \u201cKing of Romance\u201d do his thing. In lieu of the tour, he opted to use his time off the road to record ‘Sentiments’, a new EP out now via OK! Good Records.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Recorded this summer by producer\u00a0Jurgen Korduletsch,\u00a0Humperdinck recorded his vocals remotely, a very different experience for him.\u00a0 The result is a six-track EP which includes covers of\u00a0Elton John\u2019s\u00a0\u2018Don\u2019t Let the Sun Go Down on Me\u2019,\u00a0Bob Dylan\u2019s\u00a0\u2018Forever Young\u2019,\u00a0Charlie Chaplin\u2019s\u00a0\u2018Smile\u2019 and a duet with UK singer\/songwriter\u00a0Janet Devlin\u00a0of\u00a0Elvis Presley\u2019s \u2018Can\u2019t Help Falling in Love\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring these troubled times that we are all living in, I decided to remotely record a special album of songs that have great meaning for me and I hope for you as well. I have never done a project like this where the musicians were all at their own homes, the producer was in New Jersey, and I was in my studio. I think that you will find special meaning in the lyrics to these songs as I do\u201d said Engelbert.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Engelbert was inspired to record a cover of \u2018Don\u2019t Let The Sun Go Down On Me\u2019 after learning that the song was originally written\u00a0for\u00a0Engelbert but it never made it to him. On this new recording he infuses his own life experience into the track which might not have been present had he recorded it in 1973 when it was originally intended.<\/p>\n

\u2018What Am I Living For\u2019 gets a fourth makeover by Engelbert following Chuck Willis\u2019 version which was a #1 R&B hit, Conway Twitty\u2019s country hit in the 50s, and Percy Sledge\u2019s pop hit a decade later.\u00a0 A love song straight from the heart that speaks to Engelbert with its simplicity, he dedicates his version not only to his true love and darling wife Patricia but also to his fans all over the globe with the lyrics, \u201cWhat am I living for \/ if not for you?\u201d<\/p>\n

Featuring a duet with internationally-acclaimed Irish singer\/songwriter Janet Devlin<\/a>,\u00a0the Elvis Presley standard \u2018Can\u2019t Help Falling in Love\u2019 gets a modern remake, directed not at each other but as a dedication to his wife Patricia and her daily struggles with Alzheimer\u2019s Disease. A fan favourite from UK\u2019s\u00a0X-Factor\u00a0from 2011, Devlin had performed the song on the show as a tribute to her grandfather who passed away that same week.<\/p>\n
