We spoke about Stacy Gabel last month, the artist who has stepped in front of the camera, after previously working as a promo producer and writer at Nickelodeon; now she returns with a new single, ‘High Heeled Shoes’, with a video just as fun-filled as the previous release, ‘Stir Crazy’.

While ‘Stir Crazy’ took us behind the scenes of feelings of isolation and boredom during lockdown and beyond, Stacy’s new video for ‘High Heeled Shoes’ pokes a little fun at herself, with her reluctance to be dressed to the nines. It’s also a revelation about how much of a confidence boost it can be, when you step out of your comfort zone, and believe you can do it, with the dreams of a big night out.

Although most of the clip for ‘High Heeled Shoes’ focuses on Stacy at home, reluctantly getting ready to go out, it was also recorded at Easton Pennsylvania’s State Theater Center for the Arts, a stunning building with ornate fixtures, which comes to life on screen. The venue plays a huge part in the arts community of Lehigh Valley, and with this video Stacy shines a light on the struggles that entertainment venues have gone through this year due to Covid-19. Stacy finds a light-hearted way to address a very real problem for much of the world’s entertainment industry. We need to save our venues, if we are going to ever return to what we’ve had pre-pandemic. We might think the focus is just getting through our every day lives in these times of rolling lockdowns, but how do we do it? We listen to music, watch films and TV…the entertainment industry is what has got us through, and it needs to be saved.
