The six track album was written and recorded over a six month period in Leeds, with Kinga K working with songwriters Carolyn Oakley, and Ben Matravers, the latter of whom also produced the record.<\/p>\n
Kinga K released her first EP in 2015, and has since that time released a steady stream of singles and EPs, with the most recent release discovered by BBC Introducing. The artist has made several British and Polish TV appearances, speaking about her life and experiences, including her move to the UK to follow her dream of becoming a professional singer songwriter.<\/p>\n
Speaking about the new release, Kinga K said,<\/p>\n
\n“I hope the songs can inspire others not to give up on their dreams and to keep going even when it seems impossible.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
Opening with the catchy dance track, ‘I’m Enough’, Kinga K leaves us in no doubt that we’re in for something special. She follows on with the glorious ‘For Better Or Worse’, an anthemic pop piece which showcases her incredible vocals, reminiscent of Dua Lipa, and Zara Larsson.<\/p>\n
Track 3, ‘Dangerous Addiction’, has a more experimental sound, but is no less compelling than the rest of the songs. Moving into ‘I Wish’, the fourth song on the album, and she returns to what it seems she feels most comfortable with, an anthemic pop song which gives her the opportunity to highlight her vocal talent. This continues with penultimate song, ‘Me!’ which sees Kinga K reminisce on the past and look forward to her bright future. In this she channels Kesha and is glorious.<\/p>\n
Song number 6 is the title track, ‘I Won’t Wait’, and is a fitting end to a great album, with Kinga K taking the opportunity of fully expanding her powerful voice, which is well matched to a genre-crossing pop\/electronica instrumental.<\/p>\n
