The King of Reggae and Dancehall, Mr. Vegas<\/a>, returns with a hot new track to make us get up and dance. His single, ‘Dancehall Hallelujah’ comes with a great music video as well, and he brings everything he’s got and lays it out right there on the table.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The Jamaican native, born Clifford Smith, pulls out all the stops and gives us some warm Caribbean sunshine. Opening strong with a few beat drops of epic proportions, it gives way gradually to a wavy rhythm, and gorgeous harmonies singing Hallelujah. Your head starts bobbing, your feet start tapping, and all your worries are swept away. It feels impossible to categorise this song – it’s packed full of so many genres – so in the end we just stop and lose ourselves in the music, singing that Hallelujah refrain at the top of our lungs. It’s church right here at home.<\/p>\n

Like so many other artists this year, because of the worldwide pandemic, Mr. Vegas has had to be innovative in how he made the music video for ‘Dancehall Hallelujah’. Starting in a black room, three women are lit up, and are joined by an endless stream of beautiful, dancing women. Mr. Vegas sometimes joins them, and sometimes he’s there by himself; the whole thing meanwhile looks like it’s been scrawled on a sketchpad, with beds, houses, and speakers all doodled on the screen, united by a scratchy, grey background. It’s well done and illustrates the can do, must do, creative attitude that so many of us have had to adopt this year.<\/p>\n
