Lorne Vincent is the solo project of electro-indie pop artist and songwriter, Matt Burke. Based in Perth, Western Australia, he’s perhaps best known for his work with previous project, Foreign Architects. The artist uses the project for music he feels aren’t in line with Foreign Architects’ sound, and he draws influence from the likes of Flume, Bon Iver, and other electro indie artists. His new single, ‘Couldn’t Stay’, is released in collaboration with fellow Perth Artist Boox Kid.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

‘Couldn’t Stay’ is characterised by its ceaseless, and somewhat off-kilter beat and catchy rhythms, with a vibrant energy that provides a direct contrast to the mellow vocals. The track is an exploration of human emotions, and empathy, juxtaposed with electronic sounds. Vincent explains,<\/p>\n

“there\u2019s something about that synthesized vocal sound that almost sounds sadder and more emotive than an actual human voice”.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Boox Kid, also known as Jarred Wall, is an extraordinary producer, and a proud Noongar man of the Wardandi Bibbulmun nation of South West Weastern Australia. The artist is known for his incredible live performances, and has played at NAIDOC Week 2019, Bunuru Festival, and City of Fremantle Hidden Treasures Festival, among others. He’s also enjoyed extensive radio play. Boox Kid has recently confirmed he will be performing on Bigsound 2020 ‘Bigsound 50’s lineup.<\/p>\n
