We love Bruce Sudano. His music career has been massive, both on stage and behind the scenes. The former member of pop-rock bands Brooklyn Dreams, and Alive N Kickin’ has had such a versatile career, with a country-pop hit for Dolly Parton (‘Starting Over Again’, which he co-wrote with Donna Summer, his late wife), four songs for Donna on her album, ‘She Works Hard For The Money’, and ‘Tell Me I’m Not Dreamin’ (Too Good to Be True)’ with Michael Omartian, which saw Jermaine and Michael Jackson record as a duet for Jermaine’s self-titled album.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Sudano’s solo career is no less spectacular, and his upcoming EP, ‘Spirals Vol. 2… Time & The Space In Between’ takes a deeper, more sincere look at subjects that most artists sing about. Sudano uses his voice and electric guitar as his chosen weapons against those obstacles that daily come up in our every day lives.<\/p>\n

Bruce’s latest single, ‘American Sunset’, sums up the condition of the USA in 2020. The political divide, rising social inequality, and the world-beating death toll with regard to Covid-19, not to mention the environmental destruction – are just a few aspects of the absolutely calamitous situation the country finds itself in. Sudano could easily have written an entire book about the tragedy, but instead covers it well enough in this song. The accompanying music video sees clips of protests and presidential rallies, things which have sadly become all too familiar to every one of us, no matter where we are located in the world. With comforting guitar, Sudano attempts to pour a soothing balm on it all, and brings us all together with his words. At the end of the day – no matter what our ethnicity, political affiliation, or income, what we all have in common is the sunset. In this song, it stands for peace and unity, and the purity of that sunset, and the hope it brings, needs to be restored. It’s a touching song and a moving clip.
