Released on August 15, ‘On Me’ is the new single from Nigerian hip-hop and rap artist, Chucks \u00c8htr\u00e9pp\u00e4r, and is from of his debut EP ‘Afro-Trap The First’. Chucks has been writing, recording, and releasing his own music from a very young age, and after going through a number of stage names, his latest takes its inspiration from Chance The Rapper, and indeed, his second name is “The Rapper” spelled in reverse, with accents added for effect.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Although it’s described as Afro-Pop\/Afro-Trap, ‘On Me’ has a very dancehall vibe to it, feeling like hip hop with a twist. With very catchy rhythms, it’s clear that Chucks has a very strong personal connection to his music, and he cites one of his favourite memories as performing on stage and seeing his family cheering him on from the audience.<\/p>\n

Besides Chance The Rapper, Chucks considers his major inspirations to be J Hus, and Burna Boy. ‘On Me’ has an incredible energy, which makes the prospect of Chucks’ EP all the more exciting, if all the songs are like the first!<\/p>\n
