Salt Lake City artist Andrew W. Boss loves making music so much that he literally has to. His style is rap-metal, and his laser-like focus and his ferocious live shows, along with his raw and relatable lyrics have blurred the lines between fans and band; all his stories feel like everyone else’s as well. His latest album, ‘The Arrival’, came out on August 14, and latest single from it, ‘Patience’ will take your COVID blues and hammer them right into the ground.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Speaking recently to Alternative Press, Boss said the band narrowly managed to get their final show in before everything was cancelled for 2020. Touring with Hed P.E., they performed an end of tour hometown concert, and speaking further he said:<\/p>\n

“I think music and concerts are very important for society and people, in general. People need a break from real life as often as possible, and concerts are a great positive outlet. I wish more concerts and touring were happening right now.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Soaring choruses and hooks that are out of this world, sit alongside angular riffs and the super personal imagery of hard times, grief, heartache, and gratitude in ‘Patience’, as Boss conveys pain and confusion. He and his band were about to join The Nu Metal Revival tour before COVID-19 put the knockers on that, but he wasn’t about to crumble because of that, and made the video for the track in response to the outbreak, thereby reinforcing the song’s message of strength, resilience, and a refusal to be broken.<\/p>\n

Directing the video himself, Boss wanted to reproduce the positive high energy of the band’s live shows, along with the current state of live music in the US – aka…nothing happening. Combining concert footage with the more sombre shots of Boss walking through the silent clubs he usually fills to the rafters, it is an acknowledgement of where we currently are, while at the same time raising the hope that we shall soon be back there again. We just need patience.<\/p>\n
