You’d have to be a relative newcomer to Essentially Pop to not have read our posts about Peppermint Heaven<\/a>. The duo, comprising Juno and Spark, are a bundle of contradictions: they come from Chicago, they’re based in LA, but their sound is anything but representative of either city: rather it is a very pleasant trip down memory lane to the 80s and the sound of UK synth pop.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Not surprisingly, this sound has found them a fanbase in the UK, and their new EP, ‘Dreams’, will certainly go down well with those of a certain age, and\/or are fans of Pet Shop Boys, Simple Minds, or even Tame Impala.<\/p>\n

‘Dreams’ is Peppermint Heaven’s strongest EP to date, and is a glorious showcase for their songwriting and production skills, and their talent for crafting indie pop with an authentic 80s style synth-rich sound. Juno on keyboards and vocals, and Spark on bass, drums, and vocals, have taken their sound up a notch with the new EP, which features their previous most recent singles, ‘New York City Nights’, and ‘Get Your Groove In Line’.<\/p>\n

Coming soon are remixes of tracks on Dreams by world renowned remixer DJ Kue, who is known for his work with Calvin Harris, Chainsmokers, and Madonna, among others, as well as Chris Cox, who has remixed for the likes of Erasure, and Christina Aguilera.<\/p>\n

In addition to ‘Get Your Groove In Line’, and ‘New York City Nights’, ‘Dreams’ features the punchy drum groove track of ‘Don’t Go Chasing Me’, as well as the melancholic ‘Dream Of Me’, and ‘Sharing’. All the tracks are super catchy and eminently replayable (if that’s not a word it should be) and stay true to the 80s vibe.<\/p>\n
