Kamilah Shani owes everything she is today to her Mom, who allowed, and encouraged her to express herself – even to the extent of colouring on the walls. Jersey rapper Kamilah keeps it real both when she’s going about her business or when she’s got a mic in her hand – there’s no messing with this soft-spoken woman who thrives on self-expression, and faces all her obstacles face on, conquering them in her lyrics.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Kamilah Shani has travelled all over the US in pursuit of her music, and has worked with the likes of rappers Saigon, and Ali Vegas. She’s also performed on mixtapes alongside DJ Envy, DJ Enuff, and Big Dawg Pitbull. If that wasn’t enough, she set up her own record label, Royal House, back in 2017. The label name honour’s her grandmother’s house, where she first created her music, and with it she wants to encourage people to know their worth, and expect nothing short of royal treatment, without fear of being judged.<\/p>\n

Shani’s video for her latest single, ‘Certified’, sees her flexing on the New York City subway, getting her point across, dressed in neon Puma gear. She’s got no time for fakes, and leaves nobody uncertain about that, while at the same time ensuring that she’s true to her word as well. Certified royal and real.<\/p>\n
